The Anglers Rest in Bamford
The Anglers Rest is a unique and special place. In 2013 it became the first community pub in Derbyshire when it was purchased collectively by over 300 people. It is now run for the benefit of the community.

Praise for The Anglers
Perfect place for food with friends
Stayed locally as part of an annual "mums" weekend away. Booked lunch for 13 of us had lots of communication with Amanda which left me feeling confident I wasn't going to let my friends down and it didn't disappoint! Only grumble I heard was the starters were so generous the main was a struggle .. Great staff & service, lovely pub and very delicious food. Thank you The cafe looked brilliant as well, highly recommend.
Mother's Day - wonderful
My sister has been raving about this place for a while and I finally tried it for Mother's Day and can understand what all the hype was about. It was the best Sunday lunch I've had in a longtime, the Yorkshire puddings were perfect as was the pork belly (not fatty at all with nice crackling), great veg , potatoes and gravy. I had pate for starers which was scrumptious and the soup looked nice. Other meals looked excellent too and I heard people raving about the Seabass. Really good options for deserts, drinks and coffees. The live music was icing on the cake and top quality service from all staff.
What an amazing Sunday Lunch!
A fabulous find, which will surely now be a favourite of ours!
Had a wonderful Roast Dinner for a meat eater, Vegetarian and toddler. All the options far exceeded our expectations. Good quality produce, and cooked well, with lashings of flavour!!Exciting that it is a cafe and pub. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
What an amazing feat for the local community. Long may it carry on.
